Tara H. Jackson was appointed as the new State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County, bringing over two decades of experience as a prosecutor, executive leader, and public servant. She succeeds Aisha Braveboy, following Braveboy’s transition to County Executive after Angela Alsobrooks’ historic election to the U.S. Senate.
A proven leader, Tara has served as Acting County Executive, Chief Administrative Officer, and Deputy County Attorney — guiding the county through major challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic with fairness, integrity, and fiscal responsibility. She began her career in the State’s Attorney’s Office and has built a reputation for justice that is both strong and community-centered.
Tara is a proud graduate of James Madison University, the University of Maryland School of Law, and Phoenix Seminary. She is also a wife, mother, ordained minister, and lifelong advocate for fairness, transparency, and community impact.
